House of Union

 

The House of Union (HOU) is a shelter for orphans and poor Lahu children.

Today, we care for 30 Lahu children by providing them with all of their daily necessities, just as any other family would.

The House Of Union ministry is located in the northern Thailand province of Chiang Rai. They provide and care for the children of the Lahu hilltribe whose parents are unable to appropriately care for them. The majority of the children living in the mountains reside at the HOU, while some still remain in their villages with other family members.

The HOU is the embodiment of the vision of the Lahu community leaders, as they saw the problems faced by families living in poor villages. Parents are unable to care for their children and provide them with an education as majority of them are farmers with limited resources. Thus, the cycle of poverty can never be broken as their children will grow up to become farmers as well.

With a goal to improve the quality of life of our children, we aim to provide long-term assistance to Lahu children and orphans living in poverty.  We provide an education that equips the children with the skills and experiences which allow them to assimilate into modern Thai culture and society while retaining their own cultural heritage. Most importantly the HOU shares the Gospel to their children and lead them to fallow Christ.
